Assisting childbirth in prehospital settings poses a great challenge due to the unexpected and quite often emergent nature of such cases. The ambulance crew members of the National Center for Emergency Care in Greece lack a standardised set of equipment to manage childbirth in prehospital settings. We describe a practical, simple and low-cost set of materials and equipment that can be utilised from the local authorities to assist normal childbirth and ensure safety and efficiency in the management of prehospital births.

Key words: Birth, Childbirth, Efficiency, Neonate, Prehospital settings, Safety.
