Global cultural diversity has created the need for culturally competent nursing care in the modern multicultural school. Every child in every school has the right to be healthy, safe, and to receive the support and care it needs. School nurses have to demonstrate skills such as compassion, cultural humility, and respect to the beliefs and attitudes of migrant and refugee students and their families that come from different cultures. Transcultural communication is effectively achieved by trained school nurses who enhance the primary goal of health promotion for all their students. School nurses play an important role in providing holistic, individualized and culturally competent care to students from different cultures.

Key words: Cultural diversity, Health promotion, School nurse, Student.
